Your Stepping Stone
I'm nothing but a doormat,
my back is your stepping stone.
You use me as you walk through life,
and come to me when feeling alone.
Never will you see me move,
my position shall stay the same.
Some see me as a pointless pawn,
not good enough for the game.
I don't say a single word,
though your feet land hard on my back.
You ignore the sound of my breaking bones,
as pain turns my eyes black.
My silence is my downfall,
why am I punished for being kind?
Through quiet sobs, I forgive you,
apology won't cross your mind.
Countless have used me,
so, please, don't think twice...
Though take care how hard you step,
over-use has worn me thin as ice.
I'll always be here for you,
Im as constant as the sea...
and you really neednt worry...
I never expected you to be there for me.
